FUNCTIONAL VISION ASSESSMENT
Assessment of student’s vision use in the school setting. Best practice recommends conducting the FMA every three years and in combination with an LMA.
LEARNING MEDIA ASSESSMENT
Determination of most appropriate learning media for a student (visual, tactile, auditory, combination). Required for all visually impaired students with IEPs under IDEA Sec. 300.324(a)(2)(iii) to verify whether braille is appropriate.
CVI ASSESSMENT
Assessment of which CVI characteristics a student possesses, to what degree, and what needs to be done in the school environment to accommodate.
COMBINATION FVA/LMA
All components of the FVA and LMA conducted in tandem for the most comprehensive report.
COMBINATION FVA/LMA/CVI
All components of the FVA and LMA in addition to evaluation of CVI specific features.
Screenings
CVI SCREENING
Check for CVI characteristics for incoming preschoolers or students who have been identified as potentially possessing a CVI. Can be folded into the CVI assessment if screening is positive.
